GIVE ME
FIVE:
STAGES OF SLEEP

Our sleep consists of five stages of sleep, which result in a sleep cycle of around 90 minutes that is repeated four to seven times per night.

THE
SLEEP CYCLE
CAN BE INTERRUPTED BY:

Sweating, lying too hard or too soft, light, noise.
The prerequisite for good, healthy sleep is the best possible "switching off" of these wake-up stimuli!

THE KEY TO
RECOVERY

For restful sleep, all phases must be passed through several times.

The following are distributed over our total sleep:

  • Stage of falling asleep: 4-6%
  • Stage of light sleep: 45-55%
  • Stage of medium-deep sleep: 4-6%
  • Stage of deep sleep: 12-15%
  • REM sleep / dream sleep: 20-25%
